I like to keep three terms distinct.

Correcting a wrong entry in a batch record is a correction. Redesigning the confusing form that caused the error is a corrective action. Removing the cause of a problem that a risk assessment found before it happened is a preventive action.

CAPA is the subsystem that manages this work within the pharmaceutical quality system. Calling the finding itself a CAPA mixes up the problem with the response.
